AS IF STILL BURNING

So powerful and very sad article. It is a proof that there’s nothing you can get from war. Just a thousands or hundreds of thounsands of people suffering and dying. JAPAN’S FIRST WORLD WAR!

This week marked the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. Today marks  the anniversary of an even more grotesque event – the dropping of the atom bomb on Hiroshima on 6 August 1945. Three days later the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. These remain the only use of nuclear weapons in warfare.

Some 12 km² of Hiroshima were destroyed, as were around 69% of the city’s buildings. The images above, which were taken by the US military on the day, show Hiroshima before and after the bombing. Some 66,000 people are thought to have died in Hiroshima on the day; probably a similar number again died over the next four months as a result of their injuries or from radiation sickness. So fierce was the heat that people were vaporised but their shadows left upon the walls.

Forbidden Love: Secret Relationship of a Varsity Player

image

Simon is my classmate when I was in college. He’s a varsity player while I’m on a bleacher. My feelings for him started the moment I saw him in tv during their game. I used to dislike him because his kinda self centered and I’m not a big fan of campus celebrity. He has a girlfriend and all girls in the campus are his fans. But of course I am definitely attracted to him.

As a nobody guy in the campus, no one ever attempted to pay an attention to me. I felt like I’m invisible in their parameter. Until Simon approached  me. He asked me if I did our homework  in Calculus.  Ofcourse I did! I’m a Dean Lister! From that moment we become close friends and my feelings for him goes deeper and deeper.

One day, he asked me if I used to have a boyfriend and I said yes. Then he asked me again on how does it feel to have a same sex relationship. I tried to explain but I don’t know if he can absorb it coz he’s a straight guy. Out of nowhere he hold my hand and say “I think I like you”. I was shocked and stunned. I’m happy but I think there’s something wrong. “Stop joking Simon. I’m not buying it.” I said. “It’s true Mico. I’m serious for this. I think of it over and over again. Please believe me.” he said. “But you have a girlfriend.” I said while my tears is starting to fall. “Let me be with you and everything will be okay just accept me.” he said while holding my hand so tight.

For 6 months we’re okay. His girlfriend has no idea since I am very discreet guy. I know deep in my heart that this is wrong. But why should I deprive my self for this since I love Simon from the very beginning?

There’s a humor around the campus that one of the basketball players has a same sex relationship. It affected me alot and I’m afraid if they find out about Simon and I. So I asked Simon for a break up. He don’t want it first but I told him that’s the best thing to do. I don’t want him to lose his scholarship because of me. He said he will do everything to keep our relationship very secret but I insist my decision.

I know haw hard it is. I cried so many nights but I have to let him go because I love him.

In the Middle of Nowhere

Here I am stuck in the middle of nowhere!

image

I’ve been here since 6 months ago. I runaway because I believe that it is the best thing to do to escape the real world.

While I am here in this small island in Visayas Region, culture shock is my welcoming commitee.
From pure “tagalog” and “gay lingo” mouth to Visayans Dialect “Waray”! Well if you can understand an old Filipino language you can understand them a little. I was frustrated and pissed for my first 2 months of stay!

image

After a few months of adjustment (IDTS hehehe) I learned alot from this small yet proud community. They are all willing to help me in my everyday living. From igniting the woods for cooking, fetching a pale of water from deep well. They taught me how to climb from a coconut tree, catching a fish using a net, even on how to wash clothes in the river using my hands. Sounds abusive guy right?

Those people are contented the way they live. Maybe the reason is the place is in the remote area. If you want to go here you have to ride a bus from Manila to Catbalogan Samar for about 18hours. Then another 1hour and 30minutes ride of motor boat to Talalora and additional 10minutes for another motor boat to baranggay Iquiran. That will makes your butt really hurt from a bumpy ride!!!!

image

You will not regret it because the views from Manila to our baranggay Iquiran well worth it.

Time to rest guys!
